Michael Leifer: Michael is a Cultural Anthropologist and a serial entrepreneur, who creates social movements and builds and retains markets for causes and clients. He is a father of a 9 year old girl and a 6 year old boy and is one of the Founding Members of the UCLA World Arts and Cultures Major, (www.ucla.edu) earning an interdisciplinary degree studying the motivations, incentives, values and behaviors of cultures internationally. In 1996, after Michael's Aunt Rory passed on from Cancer he co-Founded and became Executive Director of Erin Brockovitch's Cancer411.org, a non-profit dedicated to helping cancer patients get the information that they need.
In 1998, he successfully Founded and in 2000 sold C3 Live, a webcasting, production and syndication company that worked in partnership with Microsoft and Yahoo! producing A-list celebrity-laden events with spirit and energy drink sponsors. In 2000, Michael founded guerilla PR, Inc. an integrated communication company that blends anthropology, sociology, psychology, video game design and social media best practices and has worked with many brands including but not limited to ShoreBank, JohnsonDiversey, Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Snapple, Jim Beam Worldwide, Nestle, Sony, Capital One and many others. Leifer's book "Social Currency" will be released in 2010 and he lectures quite frequently on Best Social Media Practices.
Rob Kramer: Rob is the joyous father of a 7 year old boy named Ben. He has spent the past 20 years as an entrepreneur and executive in the media, technology, environmental, and non-profit sectors. Rob is the co-founder of PopRule, a rapid political action and social networking platform launching in Summer 2009. Rob consults for various companies in the sustainable business sector including Product Partners, Cydcor and Johnson Diversey.
Previously, Rob was CEO/President of Uprizer, Inc., an Intel-funded peer-to-peer enterprise software company that sold in 2005. From 1993 to 1999, he was Co-Founder and CEO of Moving Pixels one of the most successful independent computer animation studios in Los Angeles. In 1999, Rob sold his interest in this 15-year old company. Rob began his career in 1988 as President and Co-Founder of Pagan Films, a major label music video and commercial production company. Since 2003, Rob has been Chairman of Global Water Trust a Santa Monica based non-profit that provides clean safe water to school children throughout the developing world. GWT has provided clean safe water to over 10,000 people in Bangladesh, Nepal and Kenya.
Rob serves on the Board of Directors and is a co-founder of Sustainable Business Council in Los Angeles - the premier advocacy and networking organization for sustainable businesses in Los Angeles. He has been a featured speaker on water-related issues at numerous universities including MIT, Stanford, UCLA and Brown. Rob has extensive relationships throughout the domestic and international water sector, and has a particular expertise in the area of groundwater. In 2006, he wrote and produced the documentary film, “ARSENIC: The Largest Mass Poisoning in History,” which premiered at 20th Century Fox Studio in 2006. Rob has attended the Aspen Institute Socrates Program as a sponsored participant with an expertise in global water issues. Rob holds a B.A. from Carnegie School of Journalism (Penn State) from Penn State University.
Craig Flax: Craig is a happy father of two- Nathaniel is 12 and Ella is 10. Craig manages Ella's competitive soccer team, coaches her indoor soccer team and attends every one of Nathaniel's baseball and basketball games. In his spare time, Craig is Founder and CEO of GoodThingsGreen, a green ratings and comparison shopping website. Craig is the former EVP of marketing at Flax Art & Design, a specialty retailer and San Francisco icon for over 50 years. He spent a decade on client advisory boards for Abacus Direct, the largest retail cooperative database in the world, and DoubleClick. He was a professional sports photographer for many years and loves to ride mountain bikes, road bikes, play soccer, tennis, hike and looks forward to driving in a car racing series that is based on zero emission vehicles.
Will Duggan: Will is a movement diplomat and strategic modeler. He specializes in the effective use of media to influence humankind’s rapid and large-scale transition to Earth Community. First radio show: 1974. First independent television production, 1982. First national documentary (PBS), 1987. First online learning community in support of such documentaries, 1994. Current chair of the board of the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development. His son is in college and his wife Andree and he have been together and life and business for 22 years.
